A mixed use town centre regeneration project in West Hartford, USA.
In 2004, the residents of West Hartford, Connecticut voted in favour of a public-private partnership to redevelop the Eastern half of their town center, bringing retail, restaurant and leisure offers in a mixed-use residential development.
Anchored by a Whole Foods Market and new Barnes & Noble and Crate & Barrell stores, Blueback Square added 27 new specialty retail and 12 restaurant brands to the existing town centre offer. Construction started in 2006 and the scheme completed in 2008.

Street Works LLC (now Street-Works Development) is a boutique property developer focused on urban regeneration and a part of the Blueback Square consortium.
Having worked with Vindico as co-consultants on major mixed use life style projects across the USA, Street-Works facilitated Vindico's direct appointment as retail delivery consultants to the Blueback Square project.
Vindico provided a retail delivery content, design, manage and onsite solution for Blueback Square.
A site based team was deployed to integrate into the project development, construction and leasing teams and created the technical criteria and lease outline drawings, whilst coordinating submittals management and technical review with the concept design team at Street-Works Studio in New York.
The supervision of tenant construction included a focus on logistics support and close coordination with City authorities given the sensitivity of the site and proximity to residents and existing businesses and retailers.
Vindico are a great balance of discipline and design vision, always seeking the right solution in a post-mall environment that challenges the status quo.
